Quick Installation Guide – Monitors AnyWhere

To install Monitors AnyWhere you’ll need to go through these 4 simple steps:

System Requirements

  1. Go thorugh our System Specification page and make sure your PC is qualified for your needs.
  1. Make sure your PC is updated with all the recent drivers and system updates. Especially with the most up to date drivers for the display adaptor installed on your machine.

 

If you are using Intel HD graphics go to Intel Download Center.

 

If you are using NVIDIA video adaptor go to Nvidia Download section.

 

If you are using AMD video adaptor go to AMD Download section.

  1.  Make sure the Power Policy settings in your Operating System are disabled so your screens won’t go into blank. In the Control Panel go to – Power Options:

 

Choose when to turn off the display > Set it to Never

Change when the computer sleeps > Set it to Never

 

Also, please disable the screen saver if enabled:

 

Control Panel > Personalized > Click on the Screen Saver icon on the bottom right corner > set it to None

  1. In order for Monitors Anywhere to operate properly the user must be logged in all the time otherwise the Extended Desktop Mode is not operational. You must disable all security options causes the PC to lock automatically as well.

 

For a security measures you can lock you PC by running this tiny application which will allow you to lock the PC without disabling the Extended Desktop Mode.

  1. Make sure the Taskbar is not showing on the extended screens:

 

  • Right click on the Taskbar in the primary screen and select Properties
  • Uncheck the box “Show taskbar on all displays”

  1. In order for the system to work properly, it requires you to plug a monitor directly to the Host PC via its onboard or external display card.

 

If you are installing on a Virtual Machine, you don’t need to follow this step.

An alternative option is to connect an HDMI\DVI\VGA emulator like this one to eliminate the need to connect a physical screen.

Install the drivers for the HDMI over LAN zero clients 

There are many manufacturers of HDMI over LAN zero clients in the market.

Here you’ll find a list of compatible zero clients.

If you are using one of the following devices:

Centerm – C75 V1 or V2

ThinGLOBAL – MiniPoint Ethernet

Atrust – m320 or m321

HP – T200 or: LD4730, LD4730G,LD4735, LD5535

Lenkeng – LKV376 (PC to HDMI over LAN)

Phistek – ZE6000 or ZE5000

Download one of the drivers below and install it. Follow the steps of the setup and finally reboot your system.

Supports Windows 7,8,8.1/10/2012 R2 and Virtualisation. (If not purchased directly from us, additional charges are required)

After installing the driver you can skip to step 2 – Installing the Network USB utility.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

 

Currently OSBASE drivers support virtualization only when the guest VM client is installed with Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or Windows Server 2012 R2. For more information on how to install Monitors AnyWhere on Virtual Machinces.

Download the driver below and install it. Follow the steps of the setup and finally reboot your system.

Download the driver below and install it. Follow the steps of the setup and finally reboot your system.

Install the Network USB Utility

If you are using one of the following devices:

For all other devices, please contact the vendor for the correct version of their Network USB utility.

Connect the zero clients to the host PC

Connect the HDMI over LAN zero client to a monitor and a LAN connection on the same subnet of the host computer. Make sure the HDMI over LAN zero client is connected to a power supply and the indication LED is ON.

NOTE:

  1. If a DHCP server is available, the Zero Client will be automatically assigned with an IP address. Otherwise, its default address will be: 169.254.10.10

 

  1. If you need to place the zero clients on a different VLAN, a specific TCP port must be opened between the two VLANs.Contact us for more information.

Start the program “Network USB Setting” by clicking on the following icon

The program presents all available Zero Clients found on the local network and allows you to connect to relevant hardware.

Selec the device and click “Assign to this PC”This operation will extend the host PC’s desktop to the monitor which is connected to the Zero Client.

NOTE:

 

  1. This operation will cause the zero clients to automatically re-connect to the host PC on every reboot.

 

  1. If the zero client’s status is showing: Assignment: Other PC Please press on the “Clear PC assignment” button and repeat step C.

Make sure that all monitors are configured and set as “Extended mode“, as shown here:

Install Monitors AnyWhere

Download Monitors AnyWhere and go through the installation process.

After you’ve installed Monitors AnyWhere it’ll start running in Trial Mode. In Trial Mode it will run for 30 days and will allow you to control up to 3 screens.
